AC Technician

Installation of Air Conditioning Systems

• Install and set up various types of air conditioning systems, including split, ducted, and central units.
• Ensure proper alignment, wiring, and refrigerant connections during the installation process.
• Test the system to ensure it operates efficiently and safely.

Maintenance and Servicing

• Perform regular maintenance services to ensure air conditioning systems are functioning properly.
• Clean filters, coils, and condensers to maintain system efficiency.
• Inspect air conditioning units to identify wear and tear or potential problems.

Troubleshooting and Diagnosis

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with AC units, such as malfunctioning thermostats, compressors, or refrigerant leaks.
• Perform diagnostic tests to pinpoint issues in both residential and commercial systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, capacitors, fans, and wiring.
• Fix refrigerant leaks, replace hoses, and ensure the refrigerant charge is correct.
• Restore the AC unit to full working condition, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

System Upgrades and Replacements

• Recommend and install system upgrades or replacements when necessary, especially when systems are outdated or inefficient.
• Suggest energy-efficient options to clients to reduce energy consumption and improve system performance.

Customer Support and Consultation

• Interact with customers to assess their needs, explain issues, and provide recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
• Offer advice on system usage, energy-saving tips, and necessary services to maintain optimal performance.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all safety protocols while working with electrical systems, refrigerants, and heavy equipment.
• Ensure work meets industry standards and local regulations for air conditioning systems.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance work.
• Provide clients with service reports, warranty information, and maintenance schedules.
• Keep track of parts inventory and order replacement components when necessary.

Emergency Services

• Provide on-call services for urgent repairs and emergency breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
• Respond promptly to service calls, especially during peak seasons.

Training and Continuous Learning

• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of new AC technologies and systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems, with a focus on ducted AC units.
• Strong background in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to various AC systems (split, central, ducted, etc.).
• Proven experience in both residential and commercial AC installations and services.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of ducted AC units, split systems, and other types of air conditioning systems.
• Ability to work with refrigerants, including knowledge of leak detection, recharging, and handling refrigerant safely.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and components related to AC units.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues with AC systems and their components (compressors, thermostats, fans, capacitors, etc.).
• Familiarity with the latest industry tools, technologies, and best practices.
