Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or higher OR a PGCE with a Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts or a related field.
Teaching license from home country/province
Experienced in delivering the curriculum from Alberta, Canada
Must have completed a supervised practicum while earning Education Qualification
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Canadian curriculum private school or international school setting.
Strong knowledge and experience in student-centered learning, standards-based grading, and reporting principles, developing critical thinking skills in students, and fostering an inquiry-based learning environment.
Proficient in the use of technology in the classroom.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passionate about teaching and committed to providing high-quality education to students.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Experience in working with English Language Learners is preferable.
Plan and deliver lessons that align with the Alberta Education curriculum for English Language Arts, using student-centered teaching practices that support the development of language acquisition.
Prepare English Language Learners for success by closing learning gaps.
Implement standards-based grading and reporting principles to provide accurate and meaningful feedback to students and parents.
Utilize inquiry-based learning strategies to engage students and enhance their understanding of English Language Arts concepts.
Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and encourages open communication and collaboration.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to develop and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
