Procurement Engineer (Solar)

Responsibilities:

1. Identify potential suppliers and vendors for solar energy equipment and materials, considering factors such as quality, cost, and delivery time.
2. Evaluate vendor capabilities, track records, and certifications to ensure suitability for project requirements.
3. Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop procurement plans and strategies aligned with project timelines and budget constraints.
5. Analyze project requirements and forecast material needs to optimize procurement processes and minimize project delays.
6. Execute the procurement process, including requesting and reviewing quotations, negotiating prices and terms, and issuing purchase orders.
7. Monitor and track the status of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
8. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inbound shipments and inventory levels effectively.
9. Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.
10. Conduct supplier audits and inspections as necessary to verify compliance with contractual agreements and industry standards.
11. Address any quality issues or discrepancies promptly and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the solar energy industry.
3. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, procedures, and best practices.
4. Familiarity with solar energy equipment and materials, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical components.
5. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
