Health & Safety Officer

British Applied College, Umm Al Quwain (BACU) is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and staff.
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across our campus.Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with Ministry of Education (MoE) Compliance regulations and BACU policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, ensuring a safe campus environment.
• Provide health and safety training and awareness sessions for staff, faculty, and students, promoting a culture of safety.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Civil Defense, fire safety regulations, including the maintenance of fire equipment and conducting regular fire drills.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure safety in classrooms, laboratories, and other high-risk areas.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident reports, preparing regular reports for management review.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to local health and safety laws and best practices.
• Respond promptly to health and safety concerns raised by staff, faculty, and students, providing guidance and solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certification: A in health and safety.
• Experience: Prior experience in health and safety, preferably within an educational institution is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of UAE health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and promote a culture of safety.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
