Electrician

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing electrical maintenance tasks and ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in commercial or industrial facilities. The Maintenance Electrician must ensure that all electrical operations are compliant with safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical System Maintenance:
   
   • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
   • Perform repairs and replacements of electrical components, wiring, motors, generators, and circuit breakers.
   • Troubleshoot electrical faults and issues, identify problems, and repair electrical systems to ensure maximum uptime.
2. Installations and Upgrades:
   
   • Install and modify electrical systems, components, and controls as per specifications.
   • Upgrade existing systems and equipment to enhance efficiency and safety.
3. Safety and Compliance:
   
   • Adhere to local and national electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
   • Ensure electrical systems and equipment meet regulatory compliance and safety procedures.
   • Work with other maintenance staff to ensure proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures are followed during maintenance tasks.
4. Troubleshooting:
   
   • Identify electrical faults and troubleshoot issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
   • Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and power analyzers to check the integrity of electrical systems.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   
   • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations performed.
   • Generate maintenance reports, including details of completed work, material usage, and follow-up requirements.
6. Emergency Response:
   
   • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns, prioritizing critical issues.
   • Provide support during power outages or other electrical disruptions, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
7. Collaboration and Support:
   
   • Work alongside other maintenance personnel, engineers, and contractors to facilitate smooth operations and project completion.
   • Assist in training new employees or apprentices on safe electrical maintenance practices.
8. Inventory Management:
   
   • Monitor and manage stock levels of electrical supplies and materials, ensuring availability for repairs and maintenance.
   • Order and maintain necessary parts and tools required for electrical tasks.
