SAFETY OFFICER AT HIGH VOLTAGE S/S JOB SITE

Purpose of the Job: Control and manage all sites safety issues, prepare risk & safety process and plans at High voltage substation.

Objectives: Organize and manage all the site safety activities tests of the High Voltage S/S, preparing the safety plan and procedures in line with UAE and International safety requirements.

Measurement: Increase site staff safety awareness, minimize safety risks, and avoid any accidents to humanity, people, and property. Control and prevent site hazards, support project completion in a safe manner in line with Clients and international regulations. Prepare all risk and safety plans in line with the project schedule.

Responsibilities:

1. Review and prepare health and safety procedures and processes.
2. Prepare safety, health, and risk plans.
3. Manage project Health and Safety plan to ensure a safe working environment and risk-averse setting for all employees.
4. Implement updated HSE guidelines of the clients and international standards, including the preparation of HIRA, job safety analysis, and risk assessments.
5. Conduct Tool Box talks and pre-job briefings for safety tasks.
6. Ensure safe operations during heavy lifting.
7. Possess experience in all risks and safety processes involved in HV electrical installations.
8. Have extensive experience in safety processes related to excavations, scaffolding, working at height, traffic safety, etc.
9. Prepare HSE performance reports and weekly and monthly safety statistic reports.
10. Conduct accident investigations for facts, root cause findings, analysis, and implementations.
11. Carry out safety audits, inspections, hazard identifications, and safety management walks.
12. Promote safety culture through safety promotion and encouragement activities.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor Degree or diploma in any field, certified by all major safety international institutes and organizations (OSHAD, NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).

Desired Knowledge / Experience: Similar experience in health and safety management on HV Substations in UAE.

Behavioral Skills / Competencies: Good communication skills, disciplined, fluent in English, strong reporting skills, very good knowledge of computer software, and job planning skills.

Technical Skills & Competencies: Knowledge of HV Substation risks, risk assessment involved with civil, electrical installation and commissioning, and safety inspection of all electrical equipment. Computer literate.

Job Location: S/S site in Abu Dhabi.

Hours of Work: As per site requirements.

Job Type: Full-time.
