Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

The Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon is responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, jaw, and face. They will perform surgeries, such as extractions, dental implants, and corrective procedures. This role requires extensive knowledge of oral and maxillofacial anatomy, surgical techniques, and patient care.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region.
2. Perform surgical procedures, such as wisdom tooth extraction and jaw realignment.
3. Place dental implants and perform bone grafts.
4. Treat facial trauma, infections, and tumors.
5. Collaborate with other specialists to develop treatment plans.
6. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and instructions to patients.
7. Diagnose and manage temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
8. Stay updated with advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Minimum Requirements

1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
2. Completed residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
3. Board certification or eligibility for certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
4. Strong surgical skills and dexterity.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
7. Ability to work well in a team and handle complex cases.
