Python Data Engineer - Virtusa

We are seeking a skilled Python Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing robust web frameworks, building backend code to efficiently serve datasets, and performing data transformations to support our data-driven applications. This role requires a deep understanding of Python web development frameworks, data processing, and database management.

Responsibilities:

1. Be proficient in the concepts and features of the Python language.
2. Experience with web frameworks like Flask and FastAPI for developing RESTful APIs.
3. Skilled in asynchronous programming using asyncio.
4. Experience with handling concurrent connections and optimizing I/O operations.
5. Deep understanding of microservices architecture and capable of writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
6. Understanding of security practices for microservices including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
7. Experience with securing APIs using OAuth, JWT, and API gateways.
8. Design, develop, and maintain scalable web frameworks using Python.
9. Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
10. Ensure the web frameworks are secure, performant, and maintainable.
11. Sound knowledge of one or more web frameworks based on Python such as Django, Flask, Pyramid, etc.
12. Develop backend systems to serve datasets through APIs and other interfaces.
13. Implement data access layers integrating with various databases and data storage solutions.
14. Optimize backend code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
15. Use ORMs to interact with databases using Python objects.
16. Define models, perform CRUD operations, query data, and handle transactions.
17. Design and maintain database schemas to support application requirements.
18. Optimize database performance and ensure efficient data retrieval.
19. Implement and manage data storage solutions both relational and NoSQL.
20. Design and implement data transformation pipelines to process and prepare data for analysis.
21. Utilize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to clean, aggregate, and enrich data.
22. Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across all transformation processes.
23. Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, and work well in a team.
24. Write clear and concise documentation, follow coding standards and best practices, and give and receive feedback.
