Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and quality control processes for EPCI projects within the oil and gas industry. This role ensures that all project activities, from engineering and procurement through to construction and installation, meet the highest quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and align with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System for the project in line with client standards and ISO 9001. Establish and monitor quality objectives, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all phases of the EPCI lifecycle.
- Project Quality Planning: Create and oversee the Project Quality Plan, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements to ensure alignment with clients' quality requirements. Conduct risk assessments to identify quality risks and implement mitigating strategies.
- Quality Assurance & Control: Lead and coordinate all quality assurance and quality control activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and installation stages. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and surveillances on processes, suppliers, and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Manage the review and approval of suppliers' and contractors' quality documents, including ITPs, material certifications, and welding procedures.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API), and local regulatory requirements. Keep abreast of new regulations, standards, and best practices within the oil and gas industry to ensure continuous improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting: Oversee and ensure the timely documentation of all quality-related records, test results, and certification requirements. Prepare quality reports and summaries for senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Team Management and Training: Manage, train, and guide the quality team, including inspectors, auditors, and coordinators, to ensure a thorough understanding of project quality requirements. Develop and conduct quality training sessions for project personnel to promote a quality-focused culture.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for all quality-related issues and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Oversee root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues effectively.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in quality management, with a strong background in EPCI projects in the oil and gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ADNOC’s quality standards, ISO 9001, and relevant international standards (ASME, ASTM, API).
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple priorities.
