Day-to-Day Operations:
Responsible for planning and completion of the allocated projects efficiently within the set deadline.
Ensure that all operations are carried out to meet customers' contractual expectations.
Implement the day-to-day operations of project management activities to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Liaise with the trades and make all necessary schedules for the project (preliminary completion and revisions). Ensure that all activities relating to the project are properly planned and that the plans and responsibilities are understood by all concerned parties.
Identify any yard process which may cause delays or can be optimized and propose solutions for the same.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and government authorities to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
Responsible for monitoring the progress of the project to ensure timely delivery of assignments while maintaining standards and cost-effectiveness.
Track tradesman hours and ensure proper control of working man-hours and efficiently coordinate with the invoicer.
Track the cost of consumables/materials being booked on the projects and maintain effective control over the same.
Customer Care: Accountable for daily contact with the customer representative to report the status, resolve issues, and negotiate changes to the schedule.
Ensure all jobs carried out, including additional jobs, are invoiced by vetting the draft invoice/work done report.
Ensure subcontractors assigned for the project are assessed for their performance.
Implement the day-to-day operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Education/Skills:
Degree in Marine / Mechanical / Naval Architecture / 2nd Engineer Marine Engineer (Preferred).
Project Management Skills/Project Management experience in Ship repair Conversion.
Ideally, the candidate should have a sound working knowledge of the procedures and processes undertaken in shipyards.
Presentation skills.
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position in shipyard/new building yard.
Ability to use Project Management techniques.
Ability to focus more on contractual objectives.
