Our client, a large manufacturing company, is seeking a Safety Officer. In this role, you will ensure that the EHSMS procedures and government regulations are implemented in the facility and that all employees are aware of the safe work procedures and environmental aspects, following them adequately.
Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Take part in workplace discussions on injury, health and welfare, and damage control.
Assist in conducting incident investigation analysis.
Assist in the preparation of incident reports and summaries.
Report all near misses.
Provide first aid to injured employees and organize transport to the hospital, monitoring any major issues and reporting to the Section Head for further actions.
Conduct daily safety walks to identify safety and environmental hazards, highlight issues, and follow up on corrective actions.
Ensure safety signs are visible in correct areas throughout the company.
Assist in conducting any training by the safety team.
Liaise with external vendors for regular maintenance of firefighting/fire alarm systems and chemical wastewater clearance.
Liaise with external personnel for pest control and other services.
Make necessary work permits wherever needed.
Assist in administering safety programs.
Research and conduct regular toolbox talks.
Check and ensure that first aid boxes are free from expired medicines and refilled as required.
Check and maintain fire extinguishers and ensure all certifications are up to date.
Help to organize fire drills and report results.
Create and submit all relevant reports.
Perform other related duties as required by the line manager.
