Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled BIM Modeler (Electrical) to join our team in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing 3D BIM models of electrical systems for large-scale building and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with project teams, ensuring the electrical designs are accurately represented, coordinated with other disciplines, and comply with local regulations and standards.

Previous experience working in the UAE or GCC region/project on large-scale projects.
Experience with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient electrical systems.
Working Conditions:
Office Location: This position is based in the UAE with occasional site visits.
Work Hours: Standard working hours with potential overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Modelling: Create and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems, including power, lighting, distribution, fire alarms, and communication systems using software such as Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
Design Coordination: Work closely with architects, mechanical, and plumbing teams to ensure the electrical systems are accurately integrated into the overall BIM model and resolve any coordination issues.
Clash Detection: Utilize BIM software to perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts between electrical systems and other building components before construction begins.
Documentation & Drawings: Produce high-quality electrical drawings, schedules, and documentation based on the BIM models for both design and construction stages.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on models to ensure compliance with local standards and regulations, including UAE-specific building codes and standards.
Project Support: Assist electrical engineers and project teams in preparing design modifications, reviewing technical specifications, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
Coordination Meetings: Participate in regular BIM coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and ensuring integration with other disciplines.
Revisions & Updates: Continuously update and modify the BIM model in response to changes in project scope, feedback from consultants, and client requirements.
Technical Expertise: Provide BIM-related support and troubleshooting for project teams, ensuring proper implementation of BIM standards and best practices in electrical design.
Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations on model status, progress, and issues, ensuring stakeholders are informed of any changes that impact the project.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a BIM Modeler in electrical systems, preferably in the UAE or GCC region. Experience with large-scale projects (commercial, residential, or infrastructure) is highly desirable.
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in BIM software tools such as Revit (MEP), AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and other related software. Knowledge of BIM 360 and other cloud-based collaboration platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of UAE Codes: Familiarity with local regulations, standards, and codes (such as UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, DEWA regulations, etc.) is essential.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a focus on precision and accuracy in electrical system modeling and design coordination.
Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate and resolve design issues early by using BIM tools effectively, ensuring smooth project delivery.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in both English (required) and Arabic (preferred). Ability to coordinate and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively in a team, offering input, ideas, and solutions while ensuring smooth integration with other building systems.
