Responsibilities:
- Perform architectural/finishing inspections and prepare reports to verify documents that scheduled and unscheduled works and activities in compliance to the regulations, standards and accordance with the Dar Quality Assurance (QA) Program.
- Ensure inspection checklists and frequency of inspections are reviewed and approved by the Project Manager/Resident Engineer and a clear forward plan and programme for such inspections are developed. Also, ensure all completed inspection checklists, reports & recommendations are issued for record and performance review purposes.
- Ensure safe working practices including compliance with Permits to Work system & DAR Standard Operating Procedures are implemented by Contractors and Subcontractors staff at all times.
- Inspect the on-site and off-site materials to be used in the project and organize field/laboratory tests to ascertain their compliance with the specifications and determine its acceptability for use on the project.
- Liaise with the Resident Engineer for the effective implementation of the quality management systems and site supervision provision activities.
- Attend site technical coordination meetings to discuss contractor(s) submissions, shop drawings, material submittals and construction related matters ensuring that all statutory authority No Objection Certificates (NOC)/permits/design approvals are available on site for construction.
- Raise non-conformance notices (NCNs)/reports, site inspections notices (SINs), identify quality deficiencies in conjunction with the Resident Engineer (RE).
- Assist in the review and forward comments on the contractor's method statement for execution of the works and approve the contractor's operations & maintenance manuals monitoring the progress of the work against the approved contractor programme of works and carry out the final inspection for certification of final completion and handing over of the works.
Requirements:
- Master's / Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience in architectural inspection or a similar role in the construction industry.
- Experience with high-rise buildings or commercial projects is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
