Senior Estimator (Building Construction)

Job Purpose:

To prepare a realistic and competitive estimate of the cost of labor and material required for handling the project, in order to enable the management to evaluate the economic viability and decide upon the participation in the tender.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Compile all tender bids, ensuring it is complete in all aspects of pricing, submission, and checking all estimating and tendering aspects relevant to the project implementation in the region.
2. Ensure the estimators prepare, upon award of the project, a summary of the job including cost of labor, material, quantity, and quality of the material required strictly as per the specification of the client to ensure that they are as per the prescribed parameters.
3. Assist the Estimating Manager during post-tender negotiation/clarification with clients to arrive at a tangible decision on tenders with a view to obtain the job with maximum markups and profits.
4. Update construction cost database to order and track purchased materials, labor, and supplies needed for projects and monitor, review, and oversee contracts submitting bids that determine cost and stated duration of the project.
5. Update unit rates, material cost databases, labor, and construction equipment rates to keep them current and prepare construction estimates for Job Change Notices (JCN).

Skills and Experience:

1. 7-10 years of experience (Middle East preferred) with hands-on involvement in commercial & quantity surveying practices on large construction/interior fit-out projects.
2. BSc in QS / HD in QS.
