About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Director - Mega Projects to lead the successful delivery of a large-scale mega project in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction contracting background, with a hands-on approach to managing both pre-contract and post-contract phases. This role requires a leader who can drive execution on-site, ensuring technical excellence, cost control, and timely project completion. The Project Director will report directly to the Board Committee and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of the project, from design coordination and procurement to execution, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
• Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on guidance on all technical, contractual, and commercial aspects, ensuring project compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and board members, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project objectives.
• Construction Oversight: Lead and manage site teams, drive productivity, and troubleshoot challenges that arise during construction.
• Financial & Risk Management: Oversee budget control, contract negotiation, claims management, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Health, Safety & Quality: Ensure strict adherence to HSE regulations and quality control measures across all construction activities.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and site teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Requirements:

• 20+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 10 years in a Project Director role overseeing mega projects ($1Bn+).
• Strong background in contracting and construction delivery, with a proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure, mixed-use, or high-rise projects.
• Deep understanding of pre-contract (design, procurement, planning) and post-contract (execution, claims, handover) stages.
• Highly technical and hands-on approach – must be comfortable working on-site and addressing real-time challenges.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working in the UAE/GCC market is Mandatory.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP, MRICS, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
