Job description

Roles and responsibilities

They're looking for an Enterprise Agile Coach to lead and support their organization's transition to fully adopting agile principles and practices across all departments and levels.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in agile methodologies, change management, and leadership development and a demonstrated ability to drive large-scale agile transformations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the agile practices and maturity roadmap for 5-10 Agile Squads.
  • Developing agile maturity assessment criteria, evaluating squads, and providing ratings along with actionable improvement plans.
  • Coaching teams on Agile mindset and practices, refining processes like ceremonies, reporting, estimation, and user stories.
  • Enhancing agile adoption within squads while embedding and reinforcing agile principles.
  • Acting as a problem-solver at the squad level, removing blockers to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Providing guidance to squad members on areas for improvement based on specified assessment criteria.
  • Assisting Scrum Masters in facilitating and planning key Scrum events, such as sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, daily stand-ups, and backlog refinement.
  • Helping shape the enterprise's agile strategy, including leadership engagement and education efforts.
  • Driving the education and adoption of the SAFe framework, including leading PI planning and supporting Product Owners with product roadmaps and backlog preparation.
  • Running Scrum of Scrums to assist Scrum Masters in a Release Train Engineer (RTE) capacity.
  • Defining, compiling, and communicating portfolio-level reporting for squads and the Agile Release Train (ART).

Desired candidate profile

  • Agile Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP.

  • Facilitation: Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and retrospectives to foster collaboration and engagement.

  • Coaching: Expertise in coaching individuals and teams to improve their Agile practices and mindsets.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and foster open dialogue.

  • Conflict Resolution: Skills to mediate conflicts and promote a healthy team dynamic.

  • Change Management: Understanding of how to guide organizations through cultural and structural changes associated with Agile adoption.

  • Metrics and Reporting: Ability to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and improvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and align their goals with Agile practices.

  • Training and Development: Experience in developing training materials and conducting workshops to educate teams on Agile principles.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust coaching strategies based on team maturity and organizational context.

  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within teams.
