Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) works under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a registered nurse, and assists with basic duties that are in line with the hospital's policies and procedures.
Performs a range of duties as directed in accordance with the patient’s individuality, abilities, culture, and choices, such as:
- Washing and dressing patients
- Serving meals and helping to feed patients
- Helping patients mobilize
- Assisting patients to the bathroom/toileting
- Making beds
- Talking to patients and making them comfortable
- Practicing in accordance with BIH values and moral principles and maintaining confidentiality as appropriate
- Assisting the patient with general hygiene and helping maintain a safe, clean environment using infection control practices
- Providing information and observations to assist the nursing staff
- Operating basic equipment to obtain data and keeping them clean
- Keeping departments clean and tidy
- Organizing department stores, carriages, and trolleys with consumables while keeping them clean and tidy
- Transporting specimens to the laboratory
- Assisting nurses in the discharge process (handing over paperwork to the pharmacy and admission office)
- Initiating emergency, safety practices and fire safety measures as necessary
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Desired Candidate Profile
• Education: Diploma in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse, valid license in the country of origin if available.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience post-graduation
