Clinical Support Assistant

Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) works under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a registered nurse, and assists with basic duties that are in line with the hospital's policies and procedures.

Performs a range of duties as directed in accordance with the patient’s individuality, abilities, culture, and choices, such as:

1. Washing and dressing patients
2. Serving meals and helping to feed patients
3. Helping patients mobilize
4. Assisting patients to the bathroom/toileting
5. Making beds
6. Talking to patients and making them comfortable
7. Practicing in accordance with BIH values and moral principles and maintaining confidentiality as appropriate
8. Assisting the patient with general hygiene and helping maintain a safe, clean environment using infection control practices
9. Providing information and observations to assist the nursing staff
10. Operating basic equipment to obtain data and keeping them clean
11. Keeping departments clean and tidy
12. Organizing department stores, carriages, and trolleys with consumables while keeping them clean and tidy
13. Transporting specimens to the laboratory
14. Assisting nurses in the discharge process (handing over paperwork to the pharmacy and admission office)
15. Initiating emergency, safety practices and fire safety measures as necessary
16. Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Diploma in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse, valid license in the country of origin if available.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience post-graduation
