Role Objective:

To develop the design coordination and engineering electrical drawings of jobs by incorporating the contract specifications, client requirements and government regulations without compromising the constructability of these designs. To ensure the use of creative solutions in the design of jobs that reduce manpower requirements, cost and time.

• Considers creative solutions to job requirements that would reduce manpower requirements, cost, and time.
• Considers creative solutions to job requirements that would distinguish Amana from other competitors.
• Researches the market for advanced construction technologies and creative solutions that would reduce manpower requirements, cost, and time in coordination with Project Manager.
• Utilizes programs and design to improve speed and efficiency of design duties.
• Responsible for the release of the shop drawings for electrical for construction taking the consideration at all the requirements.
• Performs electrical design review and analysis for Design/Build contracts, coordinates the activities of the consultant, client and Amana in order to develop the compliant design as per the client requirements and obtain the approval of the authorities in the shortest possible time frame and within the job estimate developed by the Estimation department.
• Interfaces with clients, consultants, and authorities to ensure the quick approval of drawings compliant with the job requirements and contract.
• Checks and approves the compatibility of the Architectural, Civil, MEP and Steel ensuring the resolving of any incompatibilities in coordination with the relevant parties.
• Ensures the timely delivery of updated Issued for Construction drawings defined by the drawings log set by Engineering Manager.
• Checks the subcontractor/supplier's shop drawings and compares the same with Contract drawings.
• Checks subcontractor's material submittal with respect to the project specification.
• Checks and assists Site QA/QC regarding material and workmanship.
• Performs site visits as needed to compare designs with actual site practices as well as to improve knowledge of practical building practices.
• Assists Cost Control function as needed in variation orders.
• Develops and maintains a library of standard constructible details of least cost implications.
• Assists the Engineering Manager in the completion of the Engineering section of the End of Job Report.
• Checks and approves the compatibility of the material submissions and ensures the resolving of any incompatibilities in coordination with relevant parties.
• Prepares bid packages for Procurement and assists with the technical evaluation of the proposals (as applicable).
• Responsible of the material submittal and approvals and maintain log.
• Assists the planning function with the preparation of the project baseline schedule and delivery schedule.
• Monitors the productivity rates of Electrical works.
• Supervises the subcontractors / in-house MEP team and Electrical scope of works.
• Verifies subcontractor submissions and ensures full compliance with project specifications.
• Leads the process of getting the necessary authority (Construction) approvals.

Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 6 years of experience on the same role
