Roles and responsibilities

A Manager Continuing Airworthiness will manage and control all activities associated with continuing airworthiness management organisation requirements for the EFTA fleet to ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and to enable the most efficient operational use of the aircraft.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead the Continuing Airworthiness Management department ensuring activities are performed within the terms of the organisations approvals and procedures. Ensure the adequacy and competence of CAMO personnel by developing and implementing effective manpower plans, training programmes and a competency assessment framework.
  • Manage the establishment and development of an Approved Maintenance Programme (AMP) for each aircraft type operated, ensuring proper assessment and compliance with manufacturer’s maintenance data including MRB/MPD/MM instructions, service bulletins, service letters and in light of service experience, as required by CAR M.302. Develop and implement a reliability monitoring programme to enable the analysis of the effectiveness of the AMP(s), and produce evidence-based recommendations for improvements in reliability, maintenance scheduling, and practices.
  • Provide and manage short, medium and long term maintenance planning functions to ensure aircraft availability and utilisation is maximised and the accomplishment of maintenance is planned in the most efficient manner. Manage the coordination process with other departments such as Stores and Logistics and Training Operations.
  • Responsible for the prompt review and accurate interpretation of mandatory and other airworthiness data such as Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other service information to ensure the airworthy conditions of the aircraft/engines/components at all times. Ensure that a current airworthiness directive status report is available for each aircraft.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper approval of modifications and repairs prior to installation on the EFTA fleet. Ensure modifications and repairs (changes) are carried out to an approved standard using appropriately approved data. Ensure that a current modification status report is available for each aircraft.
  • Manage the configuration control of aircraft in the Emirates Flight Training Academy fleet and ensure it is properly maintained, including the status of installed parts and equipment, and current on-board software status, Ensure that the mass and balance statement reflects the current status of the aircraft and that records of changes in the mass and balance of each aircraft are maintained.
  • Control and manage the updating and archiving of aircraft continuing airworthiness records, ensuring that records are updated within a timely manner and that all completed maintenance records are retained safely and securely for the required period(s).

Desired candidate profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honour (12+3) in Aeronautical/Engineering or equivalent: Degree ideally in Aeronautical/Engineering disciplines and/or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Aircraft Engineering of which at least 6 years in Continuing Airworthiness Management/Aviation Technical Services roles.
  • Previous CAMO experience covering Fleet Technical Management, Maintenance Programme Development, Reliability, Planning and Technical Records is required.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering Management position and as a regulatory Nominated Postholder would be desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of the latest GCAA airworthiness regulations (CAR M, CAR 145 and CAR 21).
  • A working knowledge of safety management systems is desirable.
