CATHODIC PROTECTION TECHNICIAN

The Position

The company is seeking a Cathodic Protection Technician to strengthen the company field services team. This is a permanent position based in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and requires an individual responsible for performing cathodic protection-related field testing and data collection of systems on pipelines and other facilities field-wide.

Travel (around UAE, Iraq, and occasionally overseas) is a prerequisite to this job.

The candidate must have strong organizational, communication (written/verbal), teamwork, and prioritization skills. It requires a self-motivated candidate committed to providing excellent service and support.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in the cathodic protection industry with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, some gained overseas. With strong technical skills, the applicant should enjoy handling projects from award through to completion.

Applicants should also have good interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships with customers from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Job Responsibilities:

1. CP site surveys and investigation including CIPS and DCVG surveys.
2. CP installation projects such as transformer rectifiers, groundbed, test stations, coupons, and reference electrodes.
3. CP commissioning activities.
4. Perform maintenance checks and troubleshooting tests of existing pipeline cathodic protection systems.
5. Data analysis and reporting.
6. Responsible for obtaining field data to determine the condition of structures under evaluation.
7. Collect and review cathodic protection field data, test results, and write reports. Cathodic protection includes gathering QMS pipe-to-soil surveys, rectifier readings, troubleshooting rectifier units, and performing interference testing.
8. Travel is required to field locations in Iraq (Basra) around the UAE and some overseas work.

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Prefer to have NACE/AMPP or ICORR Certification.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in the corrosion control industry particularly related to cathodic protection.
3. Working knowledge of British / NACE / ISO standards with respect to CP.
4. Strong written and oral communications skills.
5. Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, and focus attention on details.
6. Proficient with computer skills (MS Office, operating systems, company software, and technical systems).

Pay: AED604.83 - AED11,395.46 per month
