Job description

To provide visionary leadership in learning, teaching, and educational technology, driving innovation and excellence in pedagogy to inspire all students and elevate academic standards. The role focuses on designing and embedding effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learner needs, including SEND, Gifted and Talented, and Emirati students. Through strategic planning, professional development, and performance management, the position aims to enhance staff capabilities, integrate cutting-edge technology into the curriculum, and promote Positive Education, fostering an environment where students thrive and actively engage in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in all aspects of learning, teaching, and educational technology.
  • Develop and embed innovative pedagogical approaches to inspire all students and raise standards, including for SEND, Gifted and Talented, and Emirati students.
  • Monitor learning and teaching to accelerate student performance.
  • Develop and deliver a professional development program tailored to staff needs and whole school development.
  • Ensure effective performance management for teaching staff, including quality assurance and mentoring opportunities.
  • Promote Positive Education to ensure students contribute effectively to the learning process.
  • Lead the strategic integration of technology to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Support the school’s leadership team in planning and delivering professional development.
  • Play a key role in school self-evaluation and contribute to the consultative and decision-making processes.

Person Specification:

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Evidence of ongoing personal professional development and experience in developing others through mentoring or coaching.
  • At least 3 years of experience in middle/senior leadership with a curriculum/L&T element.
  • Experience in leading quality assurance and improvement processes, curriculum innovation, and change.
  • Show a keen interest in using technology to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice.
  • Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focused.
  • Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage professional relationships effectively.
  • Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching.
  • Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events.
