Responsibilities:
Assist in the educational and social development of the students under the direction of the Principal/Vice Principal/Class Teacher.
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom as directed to enable them to fully participate in activities.
Assist class teachers with maintaining up-to-date student records.
Support students with additional and specific needs, such as feeding themselves using the bathroom (KG).
Work with other professionals where necessary.
Lead small groups in specific activities as planned by the teacher.
Prepare and present displays of student work.
Support class teachers with the preparation of resources, i.e., photocopying.
Undertake other administrative duties on occasion as directed by the Principal.
Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, attendance, and conduct.
Be proactive in matters relating to Health and Safety.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Principal / Vice Principal.

Understanding of SEN: Knowledge of various special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including how they impact learning and behavior.
Patience and Empathy: Strong ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding to create a supportive environment.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, teachers, and parents, including the ability to use clear, simple language and non-verbal cues.
Behavior Management: Skills in implementing strategies to support positive behavior and manage challenging situations.
Personalized Support: Ability to tailor support to meet the individual needs of students, adapting tasks and learning activities accordingly.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, special education professionals, and therapists to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
