Requirements
1. Educational Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in facilities management, building management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is often preferred.
Certifications in Facilities Management (e.g., CFM, FMP) or relevant technical fields (e.g., HVAC, electrical systems) may be an advantage.
2. Experience:
Previous experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a similar role, ideally in an educational or large institutional setting.
Experience in team management, project management, and budget oversight.
3. Technical Skills:
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and preventive maintenance practices.
Familiarity with facility management software for tracking work orders, maintenance, and scheduling.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
4. Leadership and Communication Skills:
Strong leadership skills to manage staff and contractors.
Excellent communication skills to interact with school administrators, staff, and external vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
5. Health, Safety, and Compliance Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of safety regulations, local building codes, and environmental compliance.
Experience in emergency response planning and implementing health protocols within a school setting.
