Job description

To be responsible for the overall shop management, enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability targets and manage staff effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Develop business strategies to increase customer pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability.
  • Complete store administration and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent store condition and visual merchandising standards as per the guidelines.
  • Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc.
  • Communicate innovative ideas to increase market share.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and current customers.
  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories and communicating shortages with the Central or Regional Distribution Center.
  • Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures, and inspect and ensure adjustment of damages as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.
  • Tour the sales floor regularly to identify and resolve staff and customer issues and grievances.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives, and monitor competitors' performance.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets set for the department/s and provide input in deciding the same.
  • Ensure adherence to shopping standards by conducting periodic audits of the department and taking corrective actions.
  • Manage the store budget and ensure that expenditure stays within agreed limits.
  • Complete store administration according to company procedures on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Drive initiatives to improve customer relationships and generate loyalty.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Retail Operations or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years as a Store Manager handling a big box department.
  • Customer-centric with a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills in retail analysis.
