Assistant Bar Manager
Job description
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel Bars (6 bars).
- Ensure a high standard of service and hospitality to all guests.
- Manage and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Monitor the quality of drinks and service and maintain consistency.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising bar staff.
- Ensure the staff are well-trained in drink preparation, customer service, safety protocols, and hotel internal policies.
- Delegate tasks to bartenders and barbacks efficiently.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the bar team, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Assist in managing bar inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Conduct regular stock audits to track usage, minimize waste, and prevent theft.
- Help with organizing storage and ensuring proper rotation of stock.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing complaints or issues swiftly and professionally.
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for guests and peers.
- Handle VIP customers or special requests, ensuring they have an exceptional experience.
- Assist in tracking bar revenue and controlling costs to maximize profitability.
- Ensure that cash handling and point-of-sale transactions are accurately processed.
- Help in preparing financial reports as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service.
- Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed, including cleanliness and food safety protocols.
- Monitor responsible alcohol service and ensure that all guests are of legal drinking age.
- Work closely with the hotel's food and beverage team, housekeeping, and kitchen to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with event managers for bar services during special events and conferences.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bartending or bar management, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of bar operations, drink preparation, and cocktail recipes.
- Ability to handle cash and maintain financial records.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to food and beverage service.
- Valid bartending certifications (if required by local law) and knowledge of responsible alcohol service.
