HSE Officer (Industrial Automation) in Dubai/Project Sites in UAE.
What are my responsibilities?
Implement the organization's general Health, Safety and Environment policy with compliance regulations.
Ensure all the Client/Legal requirements in the projects are fully complied with as per HSE standards.
Ensure implementation of HSE in project business and support the business in all facets of HSE.
Ensure accurate HSE reporting to fulfil the Client/Legal and contractual requirement(s) to support the business.
Conduct project inspections and ensure HSE objectives are met. Proactively perform the duties and provide a hazard-free work environment.
Lead and/or be part of the team that investigates accidents or incidents, submits reports on work practices, and undertakes risk assessments to enable decisions that are consistent with the company's obligations.
Prepare reports, bulletins, and safety and health program promotional materials and keep all levels of staff up-to-date with HSE Communication.
Identify potential hazards and provide advice and assistance to mitigate/eliminate risks, thereby reducing accidents and/or consequences.
Measure, report, and provide action plans for safety results monthly and quarterly, using data collected and providing results to HSE leaders.
Inspect worksite and sub-contractor facilities and recommend corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance.
Conduct regular training programs about employee safety procedures, accident protection and prevention, and emergency response drills.
Ensure that safety consultation and participation are done to give personnel the opportunity to ensure that the welfare facilities are in place.
Participate in internal/external audits and compliance audits conducted by the Client.
Prepare a corrective action plan and closeout report by closing gaps identified during the audits.
Inform the Project HSE Manager and/or the Head of HSE for areas that require improvements.
Responsible for keeping up to date with current HSE practice, focusing on continuing education by attending courses offered to remain at the forefront of his profession.
Safety: responsible/accountable for following occupational health, safety, security, and environment.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Degree/Diploma in Safety or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HSE/Safety Officer in a project-based environment in an Industrial automation field.
Certification in occupational health and safety, i.e. NEBOSH Diploma/NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.
Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
Vigilant on-site and coach the personnel deployed on-site with best practices.
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
Diligent with great attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety.
Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
