Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Senior Quantity Surveyor manages all aspects of the cost and financial management of construction projects. They estimate project costs, prepare tender documents, and monitor expenses during the construction phase. The Senior Quantity Surveyor must have a deep understanding of construction contracts, cost control principles, and estimation techniques. They should possess excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively manage project budgets and resolve financial issues.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
2. Develop and evaluate tender documents, contracts, and agreements.
3. Monitor project costs and expenses, analyze cost variances, and implement cost control measures.
4. Conduct risk analysis and provide advice on mitigating financial risks.
5. Prepare and submit interim and final financial reports for clients and stakeholders.
6. Review and assess variations, claims, and contractual issues related to cost management.
7. Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with budgetary requirements.
8. Provide advice and guidance on cost-saving measures and value engineering.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
3. Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost estimation, and cost control principles.
4. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
5. Professional certification or membership in a relevant industry association is preferred.
