Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities:

1. Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors.
2. Calculating costs and establishing spending limits.
3. Investigating all suppliers and vendors.
4. Following and enforcing the company’s procurement guidelines.
5. Establishing contacts with current suppliers and looking for new sources that offer the desired product at a reasonable price.
6. Ensuring that approved purchases are of high quality and cost-effective.
7. Keeping track of purchase history and other important data.
8. Examining vendor bids to determine if they meet the business’s standards.
9. Preparing plans for the purchase of supplies, services, and equipment.
10. Ensuring that the materials and products meet quality standards.
11. Collaborating with team members to complete tasks as needed.
12. Keeping and updating a supplier list and database.
13. Recommending new products or services that may increase sales or improve a company’s effectiveness.
14. Visiting manufacturing plants or distribution centers, attending trade shows, conversing with vendors, and so on.
15. Maintaining a sufficient supply of items required for daily operations by monitoring inventory levels.
16. Conducting market research to locate potential vendors, goods, and services to meet an organization’s needs.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or supply chain.
2. 2 years of demonstrated experience as a procurement officer or in a comparable role in spare parts of equipment and machineries.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent skills in Excel.
4. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
5. A strong analytical and strategic thinking ability.
6. Understanding of the contract’s terms and the supplies.
