Project Controls Engineer
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, considering scope, resources, and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to create realistic and achievable project timelines.
- Assist in developing accurate cost estimates for energy projects.
- Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control measures are in place.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Develop risk management plans and collaborate with project teams to implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement project control tools and systems to monitor project performance.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project health and identify areas for improvement.
- Integrate project control functions with cost control systems, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements.
- Provide input for financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Work with contract managers to ensure that contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor contractor performance and adherence to project schedules.
- Analyze project control processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in project management or project controls (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with energy industry regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
