Operator- Band saw

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Knowledge of basic operations of band saw.
2. Basic computer skills.
3. Basic knowledge of changing band saw blades.
4. Operation of the remote crane if required.
5. Good written and spoken English skills.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Attentive to all areas of the band saw, its control panel, and other indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
8. Required lengths need to be marked manually and cut accordingly to fulfill requirements.
9. Utilize all lengths and minimize waste generation.

Minimum Education Qualification:

1. Diploma in Mechanical or any related field.
2. Basic computer knowledge and skills.

Professional Experience (Must Haves):

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a band saw operator.
2. Crane driving license.
3. Slinging/Rigging course.

Key Performance Indicators:

1. Plan and prepare the material and cut as per requirements safely within specified time.
2. Eliminate short length cutting and spinning due to improper measurement.
3. Minimize blade wear and tear by selecting the best suitable speeds and parameters.
4. Communicate to responsible persons once the job is done.
5. Clear the area from short lengths and maintain housekeeping.
6. Identify and report near-miss hazards and work safely to achieve zero accidents/incidents.
