Assistant Industrial Electrician

Job Description:

Overview: Asnani Steel Industries LLC is a leading provider of high-quality steel products in the UAE. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Assistant Industrial Electrician who plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems within a pipe and tube manufacturing facility. This position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components and systems critical to the manufacturing process. The electrician is responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Electrical Installations and Maintenance:
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, control systems, and lighting systems.
  • Aid in the setup and wiring of electrical panels, circuits, and control systems under the guidance of senior electricians.
• Troubleshoot Electrical Systems:
  • Help identify and diagnose electrical problems using tools and testing devices.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical faults to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production operations.
• Inspect and Maintain Equipment:
  • Assist in regularly inspecting electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches, to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance tasks to maintain the electrical systems in optimal condition.
• Assist in Emergency Repairs:
  • Support senior electricians in performing emergency repairs on electrical systems and machinery to minimize production downtime.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards:
  • Assist in ensuring that all electrical work is performed according to safety standards and ISO 9001:2015 procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols and assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
• Support Industrial Equipment Maintenance:
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of electrical parts for industrial equipment, including tube mill machinery and electrically operated overhead cranes.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting and repairing solid-state heat induction equipment.
• Document Work and Maintain Records:
  • Assist in documenting maintenance and repair activities, including repairs, adjustments, and any upgrades made to electrical systems.
  • Keep records of all preventive maintenance and corrective actions taken.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with senior electricians, maintenance, and engineering teams to coordinate tasks and ensure electrical systems operate effectively.
  • Communicate issues, solutions, and updates to supervisors and team members as required.
• Training and Development:
  • Assist in providing guidance and support to junior electricians or apprentices under the supervision of senior team members.
  • Continue to learn and develop electrical skills to grow within the role.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience as an industrial electrician or in a related electrical maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or familiarity with electrical systems used in pipe or tube manufacturing is a plus.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, motors, and sensors.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical equipment, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and motor controls.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance and repair tasks is beneficial.
• Safety Awareness:
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards and practices related to electrical work.
  • Willingness to adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including the ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials as required.
  • Comfortable with working in different parts of the facility, including confined spaces and heights, when necessary.
