Teacher

Responsibilities:

1. Be a good communicator at all levels.
2. Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
3. Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the curriculum.
4. Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
5. Work with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
6. Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.
7. Teaching and Learning:
8. Have a clear understanding of the Curriculum.
9. Organize the classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
10. Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
11. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
12. Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
13. Be reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this.
14. Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required.
15. Assessment and Data:
16. Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
17. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of student’s development using Target Tracker.
18. Use data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
19. Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
20. Behavior Management and Duties:
21. Follow the school’s behavior policy.
22. Manage classes effectively, using approaches that are appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
23. Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school’s behavioral policy.
24. Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behavior, which are expected of pupils.
25. Have high expectations of behavior, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
26. Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s policy.
27. Wider Professional Responsibilities:
28. Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
29. Support the organizing and taking part in school events, outings, and activities that may take place at weekends or in the evening.
30. Communicate effectively with parents/carers about students’ achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.
31. Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education/ Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
2. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position.
3. IELTS score of 7.0 in General Test (Mandatory).
