Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed analysis of sites to assess conditions such as soil quality, drainage, and topography.
  2. Prepare site feasibility studies evaluating environmental impact and sustainability.
  3. Create innovative and sustainable landscape designs in coordination with architects, urban planners, and environmental consultants.
  4. Develop landscape master plans, sketches, and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and GIS tools.
  5. Incorporate water management, irrigation systems, and plant selection into designs.
  6. Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integration of landscape plans into overall project designs.
  7. Produce detailed technical drawings and construction documents for landscape projects.
  8. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
  9. Ensure all landscape designs comply with local, regional, and national environmental and zoning regulations.
  10. Provide recommendations for sustainable landscape practices including water conservation, erosion control, and native plant species usage.
  11. Oversee landscape installation ensuring quality control and adherence to design specifications.
  12. Conduct site visits during construction to provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper implementation of design plans.
  13. Meet with clients to understand their requirements and communicate project progress and design solutions.
  14. Coordinate with stakeholders to address concerns related to environmental impacts and landscape aesthetics.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in landscape design, project management, and construction supervision within a design consultancy.
  3. Proficiency in landscape design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, or other relevant tools.
  4. Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and local zoning laws.
  5. Experience in developing and managing irrigation systems, drainage, and soil analysis.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with architects, civil engineers, and other design professionals.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to oversee project execution within timelines and budgets.
  9. Attention to detail and creativity in landscape design and development.
  10. Certification or membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ASLA, Chartered Institute of Landscape Architects) is a plus.
