Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analysis of sites to assess conditions such as soil quality, drainage, and topography.
- Prepare site feasibility studies evaluating environmental impact and sustainability.
- Create innovative and sustainable landscape designs in coordination with architects, urban planners, and environmental consultants.
- Develop landscape master plans, sketches, and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and GIS tools.
- Incorporate water management, irrigation systems, and plant selection into designs.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integration of landscape plans into overall project designs.
- Produce detailed technical drawings and construction documents for landscape projects.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure all landscape designs comply with local, regional, and national environmental and zoning regulations.
- Provide recommendations for sustainable landscape practices including water conservation, erosion control, and native plant species usage.
- Oversee landscape installation ensuring quality control and adherence to design specifications.
- Conduct site visits during construction to provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper implementation of design plans.
- Meet with clients to understand their requirements and communicate project progress and design solutions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to address concerns related to environmental impacts and landscape aesthetics.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in landscape design, project management, and construction supervision within a design consultancy.
- Proficiency in landscape design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, or other relevant tools.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and local zoning laws.
- Experience in developing and managing irrigation systems, drainage, and soil analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with architects, civil engineers, and other design professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to oversee project execution within timelines and budgets.
- Attention to detail and creativity in landscape design and development.
- Certification or membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ASLA, Chartered Institute of Landscape Architects) is a plus.
