Neurology Consultant

Minimum Requirements:

• Basic medical degree and completion of a recognised higher professional education program in Neurology with sub-specialty in Neurophysiology.
• Certification of a higher professional education recognised by Dubai Health Authority (DHA): CCT or American Board Certification, or an equivalent.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience at a consultant level.
• Proven experience in managing epilepsies.
• Experience in nerve conduction studies is mandatory.
• Must be competent in reading and interpreting EEGs and EMGs.
• Must be comfortable in managing acute stroke cases.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Must be confident to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record system is expected of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive consultant level quality patient care in Neurology and Neurophysiology.
• Participate in activities and opportunities to promote and enhance the neurology services and the Hospital to the general public and wider medical community of Dubai and the UAE.
• Contribute to the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole.
• Conduct Clinical Audits in line with Medical Advisory Committee requirements.
• Review and participate in planning activities relevant to the development of the neurology and neurophysiology services.
• Fulfill professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of Neurology.
