Research Assistant (High Frequency System Design)

Job Description

The Electrical and Communication Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant (post-doctor) in the area of High Frequency Meta-Material and Meta-Surfaces. The research assistant should be knowledgeable in designing and analyzing metamaterials and metasurfaces, as well as their applications in device design. The preferred candidate should have experience in conducting measurements. A PhD qualification is preferred, or a master’s degree with substantial experience in the relevant field. The candidate should also have demonstrated experience in both biology and nanotechnology, along with a master's degree in a relevant field.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:

• Skilled in high frequency design software (HFSS) and AWR
• Ability to synthesize and characterize metamaterials and metasurfaces
• Good technical writing skills
• Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role

Preferred Qualification

• Command of material preparation
• Command of Electromagnetic software such as HFSS, ADS, and AWR
• Command of vector network analyzer capabilities and features
• Commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace
• Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab
• Adaptability and flexibility to the continuous changes associated with research demands
