Sourcing Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sourcing Specialist to join our team based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in technical sourcing within Oil & Gas manufacturing setup, with expertise in machining, fabrication, and engineering services. The role requires strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, category management, cost optimization, and technical procurement processes.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials, components, and services, contributing to the operational excellence of our manufacturing processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Sourcing & Selection: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for machined components, fabricated parts, and engineering services. Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Negotiation & Cost Management: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining high quality standards. Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Technical Procurement: Manage the procurement process for technical components and services (machining, fabrication, engineering), ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and project timelines. Exposure to industry standards of Oilfield equipment. Ability to understand technical specification and basic knowledge of engineering drawing and interpretations. Strong knowledge of Quality management system, quality control of the process and product conformance.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and responsiveness. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
• Market Analysis & Trends: Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to anticipate changes in pricing, supply chain dynamics, and new sourcing opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand their requirements and ensure procurement strategies align with production schedules and product specifications.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: A bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) is required. CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) certification is highly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and materials used in machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Sourcing & Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management. Ability to evaluate supplier capabilities and manage vendor relationships effectively.
• Cost & Quality Focused: Strong track record in cost optimization and managing procurement to meet quality standards.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with advanced sourcing tools and technologies is a plus.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with global suppliers. Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
