Project Architect

Role Description:

The role involves both inspection and the supervision of structural works on the project.

Checks and examines architectural activities/ finishes activities, using engineering skills to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, and other regulations. Inspections may be general in nature or limited to a specific area and conducted against approved shop drawings, materials, etc.

Coordinates and confers with other disciplines ensuring proper site execution.

Reviews and recommends actions on inspection requests, maintaining proper, up-to-date logs of submitted/attended inspections.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that execution of construction activities is as per the drawings and that all construction projects meet project specifications.
2. Oversee the completion of all integrated site work such as Architectural/ Finishes and verify that works are executed on time and within budget and project guidelines.
3. Follow up the progress of construction work based on reports of the engineers and propose and order corrective action to keep the project on target.
4. Ensure that contractor’s organization of the relevant construction equipment and materials required at the work site to ensure that the construction activity can be carried smoothly.
5. Oversee all construction activities to ensure that they are carried out in line with the Project’s quality policies, procedures, standards, and agreed method statements.
6. Execute any other tasks that may be directed by superior.
7. Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering site activity so that all relevant procedural/authority requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality cost-effective product to the client.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls for site activities to guarantee employee safety, governmental compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
9. Experience in piling works, inspection of post-tension suspended slabs, precast walls, and structural steel works.
10. Demonstrate strong structural analysis knowledge.
