About The Role

Ensure that you fully understand the business strategy and positioning of the RARE Finds brand, and that you can effectively articulate this positioning in the marketplace. This is the responsibility of ALL sales and marketing professionals, regardless of their responsibility level. Support the Sales and Marketing team in maximizing the hotel's revenue and achieving resort goals and KPIs by developing strategies and business plans to increase revenue.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage existing International FIT Leisure accounts, develop and drive new business for Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, and assist positioning the resort with international partners and Destination Management company (DMC) through offsite Sales Visits.
  2. Present the key differentiators of the resort to partners through Sales Visits, 1 day per week minimum, Tuesday and/or Wednesdays and ensure their understanding of the value of the products through Sales presentations/webinars, site inspections of the resort and FAM trips.
  3. Drive DMC and Tour Operating Contracting as per approved pricing with an up-to-date track record/list of contracted partners.
  4. In charge of communication to International and local leisure partners on special offers including retracting in case of Yielding specific periods.
  5. Penetrate the luxury segment FIT (Trade) and drive luxury business with the support of the Regional Sales Office towards the property.
  6. Maintain an awareness of competitor activity, developments and best practices and share information with the team accordingly.
  7. Keep up to date with the economic situation and monitor trends within the designated markets and industries and share this information with the team accordingly.
  8. Take a proactive approach to sales, anticipating potential opportunities and developing new opportunities.
  9. Develop strategic plans with the Kerzner RSO for specified region assigned and market sector and detailed account development plans for each key account.
  10. Retain, expand and grow revenue from designated geographic territories and market sectors.
  11. Communicate relevant promotions, tactical, availability calendar and stop sales as and when needed.
  12. International Business Travel & Sales Events/client visits as and when required.
  13. Conduct appropriate number of proactive sales activities (including appointments, site inspections, sales trips, trade shows, fam trips, client entertaining including entertainment, overseas road shows and events) and ensure that this is recorded appropriately in Salesforce.
  14. Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of all aspects of the hotel in order to sell effectively and ensure that the client has accurate and adequate information in order to be able to confirm the business.
  15. In charge of local DMC, any business related to conference, groups and events should be passed on to the Event Sales department to handle.
  16. Conduct surveys of local/competitor market for designated territories and market sectors making recommendations, ensuring we remain competitive.
  17. Partner with the leadership team to understand the business needs and develop a relevant sales plan to support strategic objectives (during weekly strategy meeting).
  18. Lead by example and as and when required may be asked to mentor junior members of the team.
  19. Track key business indicators to determine the effectiveness of current systems and processes and identify areas for improvement.
  20. Assist in planning and ensure delivery of sales plans for which you are responsible.
  21. Collect customer/partner data from own customers and support team in collecting theirs.
  22. Ensure all customer/partner data is collated and summarized in usable format.
  23. Deliver and facilitate team to deliver the Brand message to customers.
  24. Use data accurately to guide sales activity including cost/benefit, cost of sale and ROI analysis.
  25. Achieve hotel revenue, room night goals in the leisure market segments as laid down in the Commercial Plan.

Experience & Educational Requirements

  1. Hospitality Qualification
  2. Possessing good spoken and written English and Russian; Speaking an additional European language is an advantage.
  3. Min. 2 years in Sales in a luxury 5-star hotel working at a Manager level within the leisure market.
  4. In-depth knowledge of the UAE market and a Strong background in the leisure and travel trade market.
  5. Segment knowledge and skills including principled negotiation, contracting, and service-level agreements.
  6. Proven results in a Sales role.
  7. Experience with Data analysis and interpretation.
  8. Demonstrated successful account management.
  9. Strong orientation towards customer service.
  10. Highly organized and proactive and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
