Position Overview: The Electric Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a petrochemical facility. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical components and systems. Read blueprints, perform diagnostic assessments, and use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure that the equipment you are working on is functioning optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including motors, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve electrical issues and improve system efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all work activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Assist in the commissioning of new electrical installations and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Inspect circuit breakers and other electrical components.
- Conduct general electrical maintenance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Label system components.
- Work standard computations relating to electrical load requirements of wiring.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as an electric technician, preferably in the petrochemicals or industrial sector.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficient in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
Willingness to lift heavy equipment and tools as needed.
