Printer technician

We are seeking an experienced Printer Technician / IT Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in printer repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with additional expertise in IT support and network management. This role involves not only handling printer-related issues but also providing technical support for IT systems, including software, hardware, and networking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Printer Support: Diagnose and troubleshoot printer hardware and software issues, including laser, inkjet, and multifunction devices.
  Perform routine printer maintenance, including cleaning, calibration, and part replacements (e.g., rollers, printheads).
  Install, configure, and set up new printers, ensuring they are properly connected and optimized.
  Manage printer drivers and resolve printing issues on different operating systems.
  Offer on-site support for printer setups, troubleshooting, and configurations.
  
• IT Support: Provide general IT support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, operating systems, and software.
  Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, such as routers, switches, and wireless networks.
  Perform user support and assist with resolving connectivity and performance issues related to IT devices and systems.
  Install and configure operating systems and software applications, including necessary updates and patches.
  Support the IT department in monitoring, managing, and maintaining IT security protocols.
  
• Networking: Set up and troubleshoot printer connections on local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, and cloud printing systems.
  Ensure networked printers are properly integrated with networked devices and accessible across multiple systems.
  
• Customer Support: Offer exceptional customer service, resolving technical inquiries and providing clear explanations of printer or IT issues to non-technical users.
  Maintain service tickets and update records of support cases, providing detailed reports to the team and management.
  
• Inventory and Maintenance: Manage printer and IT hardware inventory, ordering necessary parts, supplies, and components as needed.
  Keep up to date with the latest developments in printer and IT technologies to recommend improvements or upgrades.
  

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a printer technician or IT support technician, with a strong background in printer troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Proficient in supporting a wide range of printer models and IT systems (hardware and software).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, printer configurations, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience with both Windows and Mac OS systems and troubleshooting common software-related issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to end users.
• Valid driver’s license (if travel to client sites is required).
• Certification in printer-related technologies (e.g., HP, Canon, Xerox) or IT support certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) is a plus.
