Job description
Responsibilities
- Keeping an eye on employees like salespeople, cashiers, and shelf stockers.
- Taking care of money and creating an annual budget.
- Maintaining records of spending, sales, and employee performance.
- Assessing stock supply, stock availability, profit margins, etc.
- Putting measures in place to prevent stock damage, theft, and waste.
- Keeping an eye on product displays, shelf stock, and the store's overall appearance.
- Examining market trends and providing consumers with products they would find appealing.
- Handling requests, criticisms, and complaints from customers.
- Encouraging workers to meet goals.
- Scheduling shifts and training new hires.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma.
- It is preferred to have a bachelor's degree in business administration, financial management, or a related field.
- Experience in a retail setting, or something comparable, as a supervisor.
- A wealth of experience creating budgets, financial reports, and expense reports.
- Thorough understanding of marketing tactics, consumer trends, and product trends.
- Excellent people skills for interacting with coworkers and customers.
- Proficiency with retail management programs like AIM and NetSuite.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant labor laws and retail health and safety regulations.
