Job description

Implementation, development and application of the EHS management system for all branches of the Department and its control and support in line with the general framework of the occupational safety and health system of Abu Dhabi and the comprehensive principles and policy adopted by the Department and the requirements and procedures of the system.

Identify and identify potential risks for safe workplace accident reduction work practices based on standard operating procedures and risk management in all department buildings.

Supervising the completion of communications received by the Department of Environmental, Health and Safety Services.

Participating in the preparation and coordination of training and awareness/induction plans and programs for the department's EHS and performance management programs in coordination with the Human Resources Department.

Conducting the administrative review of the occupational safety and health management system periodically and developing and updating policies and procedures that will reduce risks and enhance awareness in relation to occupational health and safety.

Follow-up to ensure that the department's work procedures are conducted in a manner that is in keeping with the standards of the Excellence Awards, and to follow up on the improvement opportunities for all feedback reports and risk records.

Implementation and development of the EHS awareness plan for department staff and stakeholders (service providers - visitors, etc.) and the implementation of campaigns, workshops and awareness events related to the EHS.

Coordination and implementation of internal control by following up all inspections and periodic checks and follow up corrective actions, and to ensure that these activities are carried out effectively.

Investigating or nearly occurring occupational accidents as a first stage, developing an action plan for corrective and preventive actions to avoid future occurrences, providing the necessary awareness and reporting.

Coordinate, apply and implement the requirements and criteria for obtaining ISO certificates OHSAS 45001/ISO 14001 and other relevant certificates, maintain their development, and facilitate external audit procedures and processes.

Reporting periodically to the direct administrator in all matters relating to the EHS of the Department in order to reflect the achievements of the Department's overall performance in the field of environment, health and safety.

Contribute to the submission of technical and administrative opinions regarding current and future legislation and requirements for the application of the environmental system and occupational health and safety in the Department.

Oversee the training of evacuation and emergency teams, first responders or any other teams formed.

Providing and analysing information and statistics to help calculate key performance indicators, as well as develop and implement EHS policies and strategies and procedures and raise awareness of them.

Preparing and responding to plans and programmes, managing and responding to emergencies and conducting exercises for emergency scenarios.

Monitoring and follow-up on the activities and work of all contractors working in the department's buildings, managing contractors and suppliers, monitoring occupational safety and health risks, and applying preventive and improved measures depending on the nature and location of the work.
