Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Analyze items provided in the BOQ and develop detailed classifications of the Target Budget framework, then set up the target rates.
  • Deliberately assign cost codes to facilitate the project team in allocating resources when the project starts to mobilize.
  • Review the established budget structure and components with management until finalized for approval by the Managing Director.
  • Control and monitor project total disbursement, ensuring all costs are captured and properly posted.
  • Verify all variations and evaluate items impacting project cost to reflect any additional resources and addendums to the original budget and contract associated with cost to complete.
  • Certify subcontractor billings while validating the cost code for every material issue to ensure proper alignment of cost against budget.
  • Liaise with other departments for further costs to be included in the cost to complete report.
  • Evaluate the approved client payment, including certified variations, to align with the corresponding work progress cost and obtain project revenue.
  • Discuss with Project Managers all accumulated costs in relation to site activity progress to identify setbacks and ensure manpower efficiency and output are aligned with the approved productivity pace.
  • Review and revise the project remaining cost estimate with Project Managers, considering expended initial budget to generate correct forecast cost at completion.
  • Perform project costing related reporting for team and management review on a monthly basis to ensure expenditures are kept within the project budget.
  • Ensure the components of the ERP system work and interact accordingly with all departments.
  • Coordinate with the prime implementer for maintenance of our system structure and manage technical problems beyond our internal resources.
  • Provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as required.
  • Review customizations of the system to ensure changes are appropriate for the entire corporation, given that all departments are integrated into one system.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training.
  • Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in the construction industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
