Aggregate Technician

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough testing of aggregate materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
2. Prepare and maintain detailed records of test results, including gradation, moisture content, and density, to facilitate quality assurance processes.
3. Perform visual inspections of aggregate stockpiles to identify any contaminants or irregularities that may affect quality.
4. Utilize specialized laboratory equipment, such as sieves and moisture meters, to conduct precise measurements and analyses.
5. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide insights on material quality and improve aggregate processing methods.
6. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable results.
7. Participate in field sampling, including the collection of aggregates from various locations to assess source quality.
8. Implement safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
9. Assist in the development of quality control procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in aggregate technology to enhance operational efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Certification in aggregate testing methodologies, such as those offered by AASHTO or ASTM, is highly desirable.
2. Familiarity with quality control standards and testing procedures specific to aggregates and construction materials.
3. Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis and documentation.
4. Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and reporting.
5. Physical stamina and capability to perform tasks in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and stakeholders.
7. Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during testing and material processing.
8. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines and demands.
