Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department by performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a basic understanding of accounting principles to ensure the company's financial operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain updated records.
  2. Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization.
  3. Accounts Receivable: Assist with processing accounts receivable invoices, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining records.
  4. Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  5. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, statements, and summaries.
  6. Filing and Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and documentation.
  7. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
  8. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  9. Expense Reports: Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Other Duties: Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  2. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is desirable.

Skills:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  2. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
  3. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
