Job description

We are searching for an A/C technician who is responsible for performing repairs for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems in the hotel facilities. Respond and attend to guest repair requests and communicate with guests or staff to resolve any HVAC maintenance issues.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you will mostly be:

  1. Maintaining the hotel equipment, building, and assets in good condition to ensure high performance and reduce breakdowns.
  2. Reporting immediately any misuse of hotel equipment and assets to your direct Supervisor or Shift Leader.
  3. Using initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without the direction of the Shift Engineer/Chief Engineer.
  4. Conducting daily inspections and rectifications of all public areas related to your trade.
  5. Regularly inspecting and touring the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms to ensure they are clean and in operating order.
  6. Regularly inspecting utilities and informing the Line Manager immediately in case of any failures, breakages, or shortages.
  7. Ensuring that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference.
  8. Completing daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day.
  9. Carrying a pager and responding to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day.
  10. Performing lighting checks to ensure all globes are in working order.
  11. Assisting in the planning and scheduling of daily operations and preventative maintenance.
  12. Completing periodic maintenance schedules.
  13. Monitoring energy and water consumption used in the hotel.
  14. Regularly patrolling in and out of the hotel premises to ensure the lighting schedule is implemented, reducing energy consumption and identifying any water leaks.
  15. Familiarizing yourself with green initiatives and saving plans.
  16. Reviewing the quality and quantity of ordered materials and advising the direct supervisor or shift leader.
  17. Following up on purchase orders with the purchasing department.
  18. Ensuring that ordered equipment, appliances, parts, and chemicals are energy-efficient, environmental, or eco-friendly products.

What We need from you:

  1. Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role with a 5-star hotel.
  2. Proven knowledge in the installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Ability to find faults and rectify systems is essential.
