As a Cost Control Engineer at MIRA, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our construction projects, particularly related to material costs and procurement. You will work closely with the purchasing department to ensure that construction materials are accurately estimated, sourced, and purchased at the most competitive prices. Additionally, you will review and approve all cost estimates, ensuring alignment with the project budget and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
Work with the procurement team to estimate and forecast the quantity and cost of construction materials required for projects
Review and approve cost estimates, ensuring all purchases align with the project budget
Analyze supplier bids and work with vendors to secure the most competitive pricing for materials
Monitor and manage the material procurement process, tracking expenses to ensure they meet the approved financial plan
Collaborate with project managers to assess cost impacts and make adjustments to the project budget as needed
Prepare and present detailed cost reports, including variances and cost-saving opportunities
Ensure that cost control measures comply with internal standards and project-specific requirements
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, costs, and procurement activities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in cost control or procurement management within the construction or engineering sectors
Strong knowledge of construction materials, cost estimation, and procurement processes
Proficiency in financial management software and cost control tools
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and project management
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on cost optimization
Attention to detail and the ability to work within tight financial parameters
