We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Audio Engineer with a specialization in L-Acoustics systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with L-Acoustics sound systems in live events and will be responsible for the design, setup, operation, and maintenance of the audio systems for one of our client venues. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest quality sound production for events ranging from concerts to corporate events.
Responsibilities:
System Design & Setup: Design, configure, and set up L-Acoustics audio systems tailored to the venue's acoustics and event requirements.
Sound Mixing & Tuning: Handle live sound mixing, ensuring optimal sound clarity, volume, and balance for every event. Utilize L-Acoustics network control software (e.g., LA Network Manager) for tuning and system optimization.
System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and checks on all audio equipment, ensuring L-Acoustics systems are in optimal condition for all events.
Collaboration: Work closely with event producers, technical directors, and artists to understand their audio needs and provide solutions for sound design, coverage, and technical support.
Troubleshooting: Quickly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise with the audio systems, especially during live performances or events.
Equipment Inventory: Manage the inventory of all in-house audio equipment, ensuring the availability of necessary gear and assisting with the procurement of additional equipment when required.
Team Leadership & Training: Lead and mentor junior audio engineers and technicians, ensuring the team has the necessary knowledge and skills to operate the systems effectively. Provide training on L-Acoustics equipment and audio engineering best practices.
Event Support: Be present on event days for setup, sound checks, and operation of audio systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly during live events.
Desired Candidate Profile
Expertise in L-Acoustics: Proven experience working with L-Acoustics audio systems, including loudspeakers, amplifiers, and network control software. Knowledge of L-Acoustics modeling tools (e.g., Soundvision) is a plus.
Extensive Audio Engineering Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working as an audio engineer, with a strong background in live sound reinforcement, system design, and mixing for large-scale events.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of sound system components, signal flow, acoustics, and digital mixing consoles (e.g., Avid, Yamaha).
Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot audio issues quickly and effectively, especially under pressure during live events.
Excellent Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with artists, event organizers, and technical teams.
Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, especially when calibrating and tuning sound systems.
Flexible Schedule: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by the event schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in L-Acoustics products and systems.
Experience in a venue-based or permanent audio engineering role.
Knowledge of audio software, such as Pro Tools, QLab, or other sound-related applications.
Familiarity with other sound systems and brands in addition to L-Acoustics.
