POSITION OVERVIEW
The Finance Manager (FM) is responsible and accountable for the content and accuracy of the financial ledgers and statements for the country by acting as the Chief Accountant / Financial Controller for US and local GAAP. This includes all areas of accounting (business and statutory) and compliance including AR, AP, asset accounting, payroll, as well as VAT and Tax matters.
The FM is also responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and internal controls (e.g., SOX). The position requires close coordination with other H.B. Fuller functions in UAE, EIMEA, and in Corporate and external service providers.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- 40% Develop and manage accounting reporting compliance and control activities
- Ensure that the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements are met and that accounting and processes are in line with HB Fuller policies and local laws and regulations. This will be effected in partnership with EIMEA Shared Services.
- Establish and maintain forecasting process to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and interim forecasts. Give ad hoc support to the requirements of the business.
- Manage, implement, and maintain the control system and SOX processes according to HB Fuller policies and local requirements.
- Support all tactical performance improvement activities.
- 30% Support profitable business growth through Business Partnering decision support & financial planning & analysis
- Participate actively in the India Management team and IMEA Finance Leadership. Provide proactive value conscience and risk management awareness to the business.
- Finance support to platform and market expansion activities. Support to local and regional staff in preparing business plans and then executing those plans. This includes sales growth, supply chain, and other business/investment initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and sustain business and operational processes in a sustainable and compliant manner.
- Implementation of systems and tools to improve decision making and control in the business.
- Provide link between the business and the regional and corporate headquarters and other business functions.
- 15% Legal, Tax, and Admin
- Coordinate insurance, pension, treasury, and all other legal entity and admin matters with appropriate regional and corporate functions.
- Ensure effective local direct and indirect tax processes and associated compliance.
- Effectively manage compliance with US and local tax matters in close cooperation with corporate tax group.
- 15% Personnel development and ways of working
- Develop and ensure an effective Finance team in UAE.
- Discuss and establish roles and responsibilities for local staff and counterparts in other functions and Finance shared services.
- Discuss and establish annual personal objectives for staff. Complete interim and annual performance reviews and development plans based upon direct reports of their responsibilities and progress against established personal objectives.

Minimum Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Hands-on individual with pragmatic approach to challenges
- Ability to synthesize complex thinking processes in concise and simple statements
- Strong knowledge of accounting compliance, financial analysis, and commercial finance concepts
- IT literate
- Sound general business knowledge and decision making skills
- Experience in working close to Commercial and Operations Teams
- Team player with willingness to be held and hold others accountable for their commitments
- Strong communication skills and able to influence other areas of the company with clear statements and recommendations
- Experience in managing and developing staff
- Experience in Corporate tax, VAT, Import duty and tax law, and general administrative matters
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or recognized accounting/finance qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis of multinational companies; 3 years of finance management experience
- Experienced user of MS Office package
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in other languages
- Working knowledge in US GAAP
- Experience in growing markets and/or in growing an organization
- Project management experience including ERP and systems implementation
- Finance Manager with team responsibility
- Working knowledge of SAP
- MBA and CMA/CPA certification
