QC Engineer Painting Coating

What you will need to do:

• Assists in the preparation of quality documentation including the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and in the review of construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to Painting & Coating works.
• Monitors all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all related Painting & Coating works, particularly issues of design, procurement, construction, and final handover.
• Monitors the implementation of Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans related to Painting & Coating works and ensures all necessary records are generated in a timely manner.
• Manages the inspection and testing of Painting & Coating works, including monitoring the work of QC Inspectors under their authority.
• Monitors the closeout of punch lists established for incomplete Painting & Coating works.
• Monitors all measurement & testing instruments employed for Mechanical works to ensure they are functional and calibrated.
• Liaises and coordinates with 3rd Party Testing/Inspection Companies as required.
• Conducts statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to Painting & Coating works.
• Prepares files and maintains test/inspection records and any other quality records generated.
• Assists construction personnel in identifying and resolving problems and potential or actual nonconformances.
• Advises the QC Manager of nonconformance occurrences and raises Nonconformance Reports for noncompliant work, monitoring the closeout and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Assists the QC Manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assists in the preparation of final documents for certification.
• Assists in the systems commissioning as required.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience (ADNOC experience will be an advantage).
• NACE Level II / BGAS CSWIP Grade 2.
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
• Knowledgeable in surface preparation and painting of various materials, use of blasting equipment, and painting instruments. Hands-on experience in the inspection of surface preparation, blasting, painting, coating, fireproofing, and insulation activities. Familiar with the review and approval of product certificates, garnets, and paints. Adept in the qualification of paint systems and applicator qualifications. Familiar with various pipeline coating systems and methods for inspection and certification including holiday testing, salt contamination, DFT, and WFT. Experienced in the preparation, review, and approval of ITPs and Method Statements.
• Familiar with repair methods for painting and coating, including their prequalification process.
• O&G Projects experience.

• Has EPC project experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
